The Upper chamber National Assembly was today thrown into rancour by the Minister of Finance when fielding questions from the federal legislators on the economic state of the country.
Reacting to a question, the minister, Kemi Adeosun, maintained that the past governments have successfully killed the country’s economy before the advent of President Buhari.
Mrs. Adeosun today, July 21, currently briefs the Senate on the monetary and fiscal policies adopted by the federal government to salvage the current economic situation of the country.
Asked about the reserves of the government, Adeosun unequivocally said, “I didn’t inherit reserves.”
This comment sparked grumbling murmurs from the opposition members (PDP senators) challenging the minister to mention the amount met in the account.
The Brief can confidently report that the Minister shunned the confronting question saying, “we really shouldn’t be too worried.”
